MY SOLO EXHIBITION DONE AND DUSTED
No dear friends, I am not one for making an exhibition of myself in public places. No wild dancing on tabletops for me, though I do love to dance.
I am, of course, referring to my first solo art exhibition at The Guildford Village Potters Gallery. I didn’t find time to blog in July as my exhibition was on for most of the month but I want to let you know how it went.
The opening was all I could have wished for...and more.
You came; so many of you that the two ladies from the gallery had to phone for reinforcements.
Old faces, new faces, friends I have known for over 50 years to friends I have made this year.
From Joondalup to Mandurah and from Northam to Fremantle you came on a rainy, windy day to see my art.
My lovely daughter and Muse, Zoe opened the show. Her speech made reference to Samuel Jackson, Charles Darwin and Colonel Sanders. What do we have in common? Certainly not fried chicken!.
No, we all started a new venture later in life. I may not have made my millions or become famous, but seeing an art gallery full of my paintings, family and friends was priceless.
My wonderfully supportive husband, Tim was by my side and Nikki, my amazing curator was hopefully relaxing after all her hard work.
A heartfelt thanks to all of you who came.
To those who went away with paintings, prints and cards I hope you continue to enjoy them
in the future.
So this one is Done and Dusted!
See you at the next exhibition.
